Abstract

"Gute Form" is a basic term to reform art, craft and architecture around 1900. By this reform, not only the beautiful form was looked for but it was intended to form human environment in practical respect. Dresden became centre of this movement. Here, about the turn of the century, employers open to new, social ideas gained in prestige and influence. Among them was Karl Schrnidt, the initiator of the Gartenstadt Hellerau.
