Abstract

Determination oi perpendicular projections of symmetric vaults by construction from one photograph Two methods are presented for the solution of the problem while the vau!ts of the Vladislav Hall of the O!d Palace of Prague Castle will be reconstructed which are halved longitudi- nally by vertical symmetry plane. For the first method the starting point is the direction point of the crossing lines of the hall which is also that of the connection lines of the symmetrical elements of the vaults. Their halving points fall in the symmetry plane which can first be constructed on aml then in the space on the photograph. It is followed by the determination of the points and their equal distances in which way al! the substantial and general points can be reconstructed. For the second one mirroring the center and the picture to the symmetry plane they are end the piane and the heights of the object points can be constructed by forward sectioning. On the mirror image only the picture framework will be symmetric, the notations of the points will be unchanged because the right hand points are seen on the side on both pictures.
