CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES OF THE EARLY BYZANTINE AND CAUCASIAN ARCHITECTURE

Abstract

In accordance with the distinguaishably differing historical circumstances the Byzantine (e.g. Constantinopolitan) and Caucasian (Georgian and Armenian) churches became elaborated diversely on the bases of their particular local traditions. Some of the outstanding examples of their architecture is analyzed in detail by the author of this article.
