Abstract

A Disappeared PauIine Monastery (of Szentpál) in Tolna County - This is a report of a subsequent stage of investigations into the architecture of the medieval Pauline order, of Hungarian foundation, in several counties of Hungary. For a territory poor in monuments or little considered from this aspect, a recently disclosed or studied monument is of particular importance. Unfortunately, often no architecturally evaluable remainders are found of Pauline monasteries, considered as perished, eventually disclosed at extreme difficulties. The monastery of Szentpál could be detected in the ground of the actual village Somogydöröcske (Somogy county, hy that time belonging to Tolna county) arisen before 1333. The nearly invisible basement walls map the layout of thc building complex fitting the early Pauline type, with several examples known in early medieval Veszprém. Zala and Somogy counties from the early 14th century..
