WHISTLER MODE PROPAGATION: SOLUTION IN HOMOGENEOUS AND WEAKLY INHOMOGENEOUS, LOSSY PLASMAS
Abstract
While investigating the whistier mode propagation the modelling of loss in the media and its description as exactly as possible turned out to be absolutely necessary. Starting di- rectly from Maxwell's Equations. as it is to be seen in the paper, using homogeneous and inhomogneneous lossy, superimposed plasma model, the exact space-time dependence of the propagating whistler mode is to be determined, which gives the possibility for more detailed description and comparison of calculated and measured flne structural character- istics of the whistlers. The method applies the multidimensional Laplace-transform and the Method of Inhomogeneous Basic Modes.
