The process of production and selected examples are shown for functional electronics (different RFID cards, with Mifare 1K IC and a functional MP3 player). Avoiding traditional epoxy-based FR4 substrates in production may help in the reduction of harmful e-waste materials. The prototyping and production steps are focused on traditional PCB technologies to obtain cost-effective processes. Manufacturing steps are described; the obtained technology investigation results and functional results of FR4, cellulose-acetate (CA) and novel bioepoxy based circuits are presented. Evaluation tests show proper functionality on the environmental friendly substrates. Further weaknesses are highlighted for future improvements of reliability and durability for actual commercial use.}, number={4}, journal={Periodica Polytechnica Electrical Engineering and Computer Science}, author={Kovács, Bálint and Géczy, Attila and Horváth, Gergely and Hajdu, István and Gál, László}, year={2016}, pages={223–231} }
