DIE KOMPOSITIONSBEDEUTUNG DER OBERFLÄCHENGESTALTUNG

Abstract

The study demonstrates the form-developing role of surface structure: the aim of the drawings is not to achieve beauty of composition but to reveal possibilities from among which a suitable example can be selected in a given case. To introduce the composition possibilities the shape of the form bearing the surface structure is unchanged and on them the surface drawing, the embossed, the grooved, the "floating" motives and those containing inclusions are repeated with an alternating arrangement. Thc complex, real incidence of the patterns of schematic analysis is shown through some enclosed sketches.
