DIE GEOTECHNISCHEN ERFAHRUNGEN EINER DAMMVERBREITERUNG

Abstract

At the broadening of a highway embankment, both the earthwork and the pavement got damaged. The characteristics of the soil used for the broadening were favourable, but differed widely from those of the original fill. The inhomogenity of the embankment, the different physical parameters caused damage in the structure, that had been constructed only with usual care. Damage was analyzed and solution for reparation was given on the basis of detailed site and laboratory investigations.
