Abstract

The combustion control at traditional boilers has been scientifically clarified for several years already, and the results are wide-spread used also in the industrial praxis. In case of the modern fluidized bed combustion appear however a number of new requirements as well as new control possibilities for determining the optimal circumstances. This article gives a study of these possibilities, and gives a proposal for defining the expression 'optimal combustion' for the case of fluidized bed boilers by means of formulating a cost function. For solving the control engineering problem occurred, a method is also presented, which is tested by means of a verified mathematical model developed by the author previously.
