Abstract

The Department of Precision Mechanics of the Warsaw University of Technology celebrated this year the 25th anniversary of its foundation. Up to now it is the only department of this type among the Universities in Poland. The Masters of Science Mechanical Engineers are educated on the regular (stationary) studies as weIl as Engineers on evening courses (this form of studies disappears gradually). Besides that the post-diploma courses for the University graduates employed in industry and the Doctor Course studies are conducted. In comparison to other mechanical departments, the emphasis in all specialisation studies is put on physics, basics of design and technology of precise instruments, metrology and electronics.
