Abstract

The aim of this study is to present the Cloninger´s psychobiological model and student procrastinating behaviour. The analysis shows the relationship of the results of Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI) and procrastinating behaviour. The sample included 110 students from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Our expectation were confirmed: the personality features like self-directedness and self-relation have a big influence on the development of procrastinating behaviour. The persistence as the temperament factor basically determines the avoidance of procrastinating, and fatigability generates this behaviour.
