Simulation of transformation optics designed metamaterial for electromagnetic cloaking
Abstract
Abstract In this paper the numerical simulation of a metamaterial designed with transformation optics for hiding scattering objects is presented. The simulation environment is Matlab with the Partial Differential Equation Toolbox. The anisotropic and inhomogeneous electric permittivity and magnetic permeability of the metamaterial cloak are presented and transformed to fit the input requirements of the applied finite element solver. We show that the electromagnetic cloak is working not only under electromagnetic plane wave illumination, but it can hide objects exposed to point and line sources as well.
