Engineering Approaches to Sustainable Supersonic VTOL Aircraft Using Lift Fan Technology and Future Prospects
Abstract
The study presents a redesigned supersonic passenger aircraft integrating lift fan VTOL technology and renewable energy systems. The design demonstrates approximately 12 to 15% improvement in lift to drag ratio, reduced vibration and noise levels by about 10 to 12%, and enhanced operational flexibility through vertical takeoff and landing. Experimental validation confirmed that lift fan integration provides sufficient vertical thrust and reduced runway dependence. The results highlight the feasibility of sustainable supersonic aviation and the potential to significantly reduce carbon emission and fuel consumption.
