Abstract

The origin of the excitation effects of gear train is briefly discussed and an adequate tooth spring system model is presented, which enables to take into consideration the important exiting effects, due from the mesh. The model is especially adapted for computer simula- tion studies. Making use of this tooth mesh substituting model, the basic tooth vibration features are discussed, based on simulation results. Influence of the mesh irregularities, being always present, even in the case of ideal toothing, is presented. Further on, the effect of the manufacturing errors on gear dynamic behaviour is analyzed by the Furier development of the tooth stiffness functions on one hand, and the vibration characteristics are studied under quasi stationary rolling down conditions, based on computer simulation results, on the other hand.
