Abstract

Regarding the cold forging dies having a polygon hole as a problem of two-dimensional elasticity and solving the task with Muskhelishvili's method, the stress distribution of dies can be determined. The article presents the change of the permissible greatest load of a die having a hexagon hole as a function of the outside diameters of the die and the corner radius of the hole. The obtained loadibilitv curves are similar to that of dies having cylindrical hole and by increasing the outside diameter tend for the limit value depending on the corner radius asymptoticaly.
